ATLANTIC TENNIS ALLIANCE (ATA)

The Atlantic Tennis Alliance was developed and supported by Tennis Canada to help grow tennis in the Atlantic region: PEI, NB, NS and NL.
Board of Directors:
The board is made of the current President from each of the four Atlantic Provinces and a representative from Tennis Canada.
Staff:
Senior Director: Christophe Lambert clambert@tenniscanada.com

  • Responsible for the overall development of tennis in the Atlantic Region and works closely with the 4 Provinces supporting various programs.

Administrative Assistant: Mark Thibault tnb@tennisnb.net

  • Responsible for the management of the circuit events, Atlantics, selection to nationals and general administrating roles relating to the ATA.

The Atlantic Circuit Events and Nationals Qualification Process:
Each season, players must qualify to represent the Atlantic region at the Canadian Nationals. In order to qualify for the Atlantic team, the player must compete in at least one circuit event and the Atlantic event.
Each province will host an ATA Circuit event in the season and then Atlantics will be hosted in one of the four provinces. A combination of points between your best finish at a circuit event and your result at Atlantics will quantify your point totals. If you finish amongst the top 3 players in total points, you will make the Atlantic team for that season. Each year there are two seasons, indoors and outdoors.
Circuit events are 3 star events and Atlantics is a 5 star event.
